Drosselmeyer
2007 Chestnut Stallion by Distorted Humor out of Golden Ballet
Drosselmeyer is a new stallion for 2012 who will stand at our farm in Kentucky for 2012. This son of top North American Gernal Sire Distorted Humor battled his way to a glorious victory in the 2011 $5,000,000 Breeders' Cup Classic! In 2010 this top class colt won the Belmont Stakes giving WinStar two legs of the Triple Crown, and with two different horses. How is that for history making! Drosselmeyer also racked up solid finishes as 2nd in the Grade 1 Jockey Club Gold Cup in Saratoga, the Dwyer Stakes and 3rd in the Louisiana Derby.
Out of a multiple Gr.1 winning dam Golden Ballet, he was named after one of the characters in perhaps the greatest ballet of all time, the Nutcracker. Drosselmeyer was bought as a yearling by WinStar at the world famous Keeneland September yearling sales.
